An unusual year has finally passed

All right, so I’ve written a few articles now, and the last one was 1 month ago. I’ve been on the final weeks of a venture of mine that I’ve wanted to go on for years, and I’m really glad I finally did. I’ve grown and learned a ton, and found some really interesting things to tap into, that I probably never would’ve found had I not gone on this venture. Don’t worry, it wasn’t some self-discovery trip to Asia. Someday I might go into what it was, but for now, it was important to me to get it done.

After almost a year away from working in tech, I’ve both missed it and not at the same time. What I’ve missed is the thrill of creating things, and solving complex and incredible problems that actually helps people or businesses. What I didn’t miss was having the wrong people around me who simply didn’t care about what we were doing or how what they produced looked like. I’ve missed getting up early, focusing on my routine, and making sure that I get a set number of things done every day that takes me closer to my goals. I’ve missed training regularly with my coach, 5-6 times per week, also taking me closer to my goals of competing. And I’ve missed having regular weeks with my little family (partner, dog) in our little space in our city, just doing the every day things.

So as I’m getting back to normal life, I’m focusing on these things:

These are just a few of all the things I want to do. At the end of the day, the biggest goals in my life that sort of encompasses all of my smaller goals, and that drives everything I do, are:

As I get further along, I will keep adjusting my smaller goals and goalposts, as I keep learning and growing. And as I do, I’ll keep sharing what I learn and think along the way. In the near future, in a newsletter, and other forms of writing.

Until next time.
